My Love–Hate Relationship With Sudoku: A Personal Puzzle Journey

If you asked me what game has quietly stayed with me through lazy mornings, stressful afternoons, and late-night overthinking sessions, my answer would be simple: Sudoku. It’s funny how a grid of numbers can feel so personal, so challenging, and sometimes even emotional. This blog post is my way of sharing that experience—not as an expert, but as someone who genuinely enjoys getting lost in puzzles.

This isn’t a technical breakdown. It’s a story. My story. And if you’ve ever stared at a puzzle and thought, “Why am I doing this to myself?”, you might relate more than you expect.

How Sudoku Accidentally Became Part of My Routine

I didn’t plan on playing Sudoku regularly. It wasn’t a New Year’s resolution or a productivity hack I found online. It just happened. One day, I was bored, scrolling through my phone, and I tapped on a puzzle app without thinking much about it.

That first Sudoku grid looked innocent. A few numbers here, a few empty spaces there. I figured I’d try it for five minutes and move on. Instead, those five minutes turned into half an hour. When I finally put my phone down, I realized something strange: my brain felt awake, focused, and oddly satisfied.
